Nico Giannoulis – Contemporary Artist
Nico Giannoulis (b. 1989 Thessaloniki, Greece) is a London-based queer contemporary artist working across drawing, painting, etching, ceramics, photography, and text. His practice explores the intersection of sexuality and divinity through themes of queer identity, intimacy, spirituality, and materiality. Using chiaroscuro as both a visual and conceptual framework, his work investigates binaries such as sacred and profane, light and shadow, and visibility and concealment. Nico studied and worked in Economics and Finance before transitioning into Fine Art at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London. His work draws on mythology, queer poetry, and historical references to reimagine contemporary representations of the body and desire.
